Waterside Road
A Memory of Beverley.
I was born in Beverley in August 1963 and my parents Gladys and Arthur Marchant lived at 16 Waterside Road, which I assume from other contributors used to be Beck Road South. I remember Barkers and Lee Smith animal feed mill across the road from where I lived and Crane Hill. Families who lived down there (from what I remember) were the Rutty's, who lived in the white detached house, No. 2 Waterside Road was Mr & Mrs Mills, then Mr & Mrs Johnson and Mr & Mrs Meadley. I also remember the Ashbridge family, The Maltons and Mr & Mrs Scaife. I also remember a little cottage that used to stand on the south side of the beck, which was knocked down to make way for the Beckside flyover.
