More about this scene
The Quay c1900 In this view a two-masted coastal trader is tied up at the quay; the grass of Quay Meadow is in the foreground. Further round to the east the road along the shore disappears under water at high tide, a fact which many first-time visitors discover to their cost if unwise enough to park on the road at low tide.
