One of the oldest hotels in the country, The Lygon Arms boasts a 14th-century fireplace set into its 4 feet thick walls. During the Civil War, the hotel provided accommodation in 1645 for Charles I and his Cavaliers, and then in 1651 for Oliver Cromwell and his Roundheads.
