I Born in caldicot in 1969 I went to caldicot comprehensive school in 1980 -1985 my husband went to same school and we work together 1990 and we got married in 1995 and 1999 my son was born in 2014 dylan goes to caldicot comprehensive school
My maiden name was Denise Warren, my parents were Albert and Ethel Warren. I was born in Devauden in 1952 and we moved to Caldicot approx 1958. We lived in Park Rd, Caldicot. I used to have to walk from there to the infant school, which seemed like miles and probably was. I remember walking past the bakers; I could always smell the fresh bread baking. My grandfather, Arthur Davies, was the head gardener at Caldicot Castle for many years. He was living there when he got married in 1925. At one point they lived in the gatehouse. Mr Cobb gave my grandfather a book relating to the castle which he gave to his nephew, Gordon Davies. I was born and lived in Portskewett until 1967.
i remember a crowd of us used to meet up at the cross in caldicot ,we used to love to go to the sweet shop run by the old couple mr mrs daly ,they were always freindly and loved all the kids who went in there ,he could be a bit scary at times , they also used to manage the methodist church and i used to take my younger sister to sunday school every sunday and at the end of the year the dalys always gave us presents for ...see more
