More about this scene
On the east side (right) is No 32, also known as The Pillars. It was once owned by the Harris family, and, at various times housed employees such as the resident nurse and Cecil Wilkins, the chauffeur. It is in fact a modest town house dating from the 17th century; it was re- fronted in the 18th century, and in the 19th century a portico was added to make it appear imposing.
