Chudleigh, The Pixies' Cave 1907

More about this scene
These caves, in the south face of Chudleigh Rock, were used in prehistoric times. Today they have a grille over the entrance in the interests of safety - a far cry from the days when local children would show tourists round by candlelight. The ivy is gone today, stripped off by climbers attempting the brutish line of Chudleigh Overhang, which takes the crack to the left of the cave.
