Cocking, The Village 1906

More about this scene
Much of the village is owned by the Cowdray Estate, near Midhurst, and many of the cottages in Cocking have their woodwork painted the bright yellow of the estate. The shop on the right is now the Moonlight Cottage Tea Rooms, and the turn into Church Lane is just beyond. There are several estate cottages with dates of 1902 and 1904. The cottages on the left have lost their gardens to road widening, but otherwise the street is very much recognisable today.
