my mother berlina ellison was born at 26 shankhouse row cramlington in 1908 to josept & mary ellison my great grandparents, there were 11 family members living there at the time, has anyone have any memories of family. regards peter foster.

Does anyone remember the Thompsons of No1 Bog Houses? Mary and Jimmy lived there with their daughter Nancy. They ran a pork shop for a time I think in the 40's but it closed during the war years; the shop front remained until around 1966. My mother, Lily Mathtews and I, were both born in the same miner's cottage at 109 Station Rd, just cross from the Welcome Church. She was born in 1903 and I in 1932. My granny, Ada, was an artist and moved to 8 Sunnyside, and during the war my brother and I used to visit all summer long, from our home in Scotland. Going to school for the first time... We lived at 33 Arcot Avenue when I started school although I was not born there, I was born at 3 Bells Yard, Cramlington village, long gone I am sad to say.
