More about this scene
The town was a regular target for bombing raids during the Second World War because of its close proximity to the Woolwich Arsenal. Crayford was very much a place of industry in the 20th century: it boasted a tannery, the famous Vickers aircraft factory, a silk manufacturer, and Swaizlands Fabric Factory.
