Brother Of Christine Brown Brooks See Previous Memory

A Memory of Croydon.

I was born in Mayday Hospital in 1938 and was brought up in Clarendon Road, West Croydon. I went to the Croydon Parish Church, Waddon Secondary Modern and Stanley Technical Schools. I would walk over Pitlake Bridge taking my sister Christine and myself to the Parish Church school and like her, I remember well how it all used to be before it became the current Jubillee Bridge. I used to know John Phillips, Fuzzy May, Audrey Latta, Maurice Eastman, Alan Eastmond, Tony Greenhead, Len Harvey, Brian Wilson/Wiltshire and many others of my era and would like to hear from them or any others that might read this and remember me.

I have lived in Sydney for 36 years now, but tend to come home to Croydon every year as Christine still lives there. I also miss England greatly and despite doing well over here, I should probably never have emigrated so far away from what I know and remember.

So, if there is anyone out there that wants to say Hi, then do so through the email address: mikeb10@optusnet.com.au

Hallo MIchael, Just seen your memory notes on Croydan. I too was born at Mayday in 1939, and I lived at Westfield Road, My neighbour there, Richard Miles, moved to Clarendon Road, and I had another old mate, Alan Harbour, who lived at the 'big house, at the top end on Clarendon, opposite the Moores Preston Garage back entrance.. You refer to Brian Wilson/Wiltshire, he must be the same bloke who lived opposite us in Westfield Road? -and, guess what? I also went to Stanley Tech, year 53A. Hope you are well and thanks for reviving some memories. Frank.
