More about this scene
Looking down the High Street we can see Fosters Brothers (centre right) in a new building that replaced the Bear Hotel, one of Daventry's coaching inns. Babyland beyond was the new name for Trinder's shops - they sold not only prams, but also bicycles. Northamptonshire Farmers Ltd (right) was a form of co-operative for the farmers for supplies for their farms. It also supplied food and accessories for pet owners in the town. For many years Mr Hiscox was the manager and Jim Chapman a loyal employee. The building was replaced during redevelopment, and Argos now trade there.
