East Keswick, Stock's Hill 1951

More about this scene
The recent history of the ancient village of East Keswick is inextricably linked with the fortunes of the nearby 'big house' of Harewood. Many of the villagers worked for the Lascelles family before the village was sold off to pay death duties at about the time this picture of Stock's Hill was taken. Note the stone-faced telephone box (centre right).
