Photograph number 7 of 9 is labelled as The Ford. It was in fact Middle Path which ran from Brook Street in Edlesborough up to Harling Road, Eaton Bray. I used to go fishing for tiddlers there and had fallen in on more than one occasion. I went to see the bridge a couple of years ago and the stream is no longer clear with water weed but very muddy and thoroughly uninviting. I wonder what has happened. I did see that ...see more
I think we moved to Edlesborough in 1953/54, when I was 3/4 and my brother Philip was 6/7, my father worked for farmer Pratt, at Southall Farm along Northall Road. I think it now sells furniture, we lived at No 23. I attended the local school, the Headmistress was a Miss Price, my mum didn't get on with her at all. The 24th Edlesborough / 64th Beds was the local scout/cub group, I nearly got my Silver Wolf but ...see more
I have fond memories of my granny who is buried in the churchyard.
