Teenage Years . . . .
A Memory of Fawley.
We moved to Hythe in the mid fifties and our family of seven attended various schools in the area. I started work at Tony Dews Autos in Langley about 1965 and then went on to work at Jack Smith's Esso garage on Blackfield crossroads, before joining the RAF and moving away. My mum, Gladys, worked at the Jolly Sailor in Ashlet Creak for years. I remember a lot of customers travelled miles for an evening event - "Topsie Turvie Nights" - "Tramp's Suppers" and other ideas for charity fund raising by Bert and his wife.
So many memories and faces are coming back to me, there's a book there I'm sure!
