We moved into a brand new Council House on this estate at 8, Hillside Crescent about 1950-51 and lived there until 1960. Before that we were housed in a Nissan Hut in Yateley. My Dad was a carpenter and cycled to work just outside of Camberley, My Mum was a Dressmaker and would take in sewing at home. There were many good times growing up here and we have memories of many children ...see more
...... bottom of the road just past the estate entrance corner shop, and wait until he arrived on his way home on his BSA Bantam 125 cc motorbike this would of been 1955.
I was not yet at school I was 4 years old, and this was the day of the week all shops closed for half a day, across the country. (they also closed all day on a Sunday too).
