Here Every Wednesday At 2.00pm, I'd Walk Past Here To Meet My Dad At The ..
A Memory of Frimley Green.
...... bottom of the road just past the estate entrance corner shop, and wait until he arrived on his way home on his BSA Bantam 125 cc motorbike this would of been 1955.
I was not yet at school I was 4 years old, and this was the day of the week all shops closed for half a day, across the country. (they also closed all day on a Sunday too).
He would pop me on his petrol (gas) tank and we'd go home together..... that went on for around 6 months until a local policeman on his old black bicycle stopped him and I had to walk back.
I was really happy there, but looking back it does seem amazing to me that I was let out at such a young age.
We lived at the very top of the estate.. I could see Farnborough from my bedroom window.
