More about this scene

In the centre is the general store with a fish and chip shop, then owned by D A Chatters. The water tower behind the thatched cottage has since been demolished. One of the two houses on the left belonged to Seabrook's Farm, and the other was the vicarage. This was occupied by the Rev Harpur, who was here from 1937 to 1950, and after whom the nearby road was named.
