More about this scene

This view is now partially obscured by a development of old people`s homes. The earliest part of the church - the chancel - dates from c1320, the nave and tower from a few decades later. Until the 1540s, much of the church`s revenue came from its troupe of resident players, who put on shows at Christmas, May Day and Corpus Christi.

My 3rd Great Grandfather
My 3rd great grandfather's name was Robert Monk,he was born in 1810 in Dunmow Essex..he had a son Thomas Monk (my 2nd great grandfather) who later married Eliza Morch and moved to Hackney.....

Longleat
My grandfather Cecil Welch, who was the local estate agent and auctioneer based at the Old Town Hall in the High Street, bought several old cottages next to the blacksmiths in Church End for his son John and wife Peggy, at the vast cost of £600. She came from Wiltshire and changed the name from Jackman's to Longleat. They had been living with their in-laws at Kasama on the Stortford Road and they needed their own home ...see more

However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
