Fedsden 1957 Onwards

A Memory of Great Parndon.

Just seen this thread - but can’t find the Facebook site mentioned. Have been looking at the description of Parndon Hall on the Heritage Open Days website for Harlow - sounds like it is now rather run down and in need of tlc.
I was a boarder at Fedsden from 1957 to 1960 - Angela Linney then - and my brother Stephen was there from January 1959 until 1962. Remember a lot of people who have posted here - Mrs Cronin was house mistress when we were there, and Nanny Pardoe was there with her. Mrs Lacey was my all time favourite teacher.
Remember playing in the big hall on wet days and sliding down the stairs. There was also an ancient gramophone. When it was fine we had what seemed like amazing amounts of space to play in outside - very little supervision, not like these days.
When we were ill there was the ‘san’ but when we all got chicken pox, we were confined to our dormitory!
Lots of memories!
