I Am Looking For Felix Road West
A Memory of Hanwell.
Ancestors are listed on RG12/1030 Page 2, of the 1891 census, but I can't find any trace of Felix Road West, apart from just Felix Road.
The area immediately west of Felix Road is a cemetery which predates Felix Road. There is a very small area, a new area currently called Squirrel Mews at the junction of Felix Road and Ecclestone Road, but whether this was formerly Felix Road West I can not tell. On Page 2 the enumerator lists '11 Felix Rd W', the entry of interest, immediately followed by 141 Felix Road.
The following link is to a map of the area in the late 1890s and Felix Road is just below the word RAILWAY of GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY which is written alongside the railway track, just south of Hanwell Park, at the top centre of the map. An early 20th century edition still doesn't show FRW.

I wouldn't want anyone to spend long on this because it's not terribly important but I just want to know that I photographed the right house recently.
Here is the area today.

I don't think that Felix Rd W was much further west, such as west of the cemetery, as none of the roads west of the cemetery are on the cover sheet. Oddly, I can't find any odd numbers over 115 on the south side. Where were they? Could the 'W' mean something other than 'West'?

Felix Road, along with the surrounding streets to the south of the railway, was to be demolished and re-developed during the 1960s but the plan was never implemented. My only knowledge of the plans comes from '58-'59 solicitor's letters to an aunt.
