Harrow Park winds away to the east of the High Street, past one or two rather grand houses, to arrive at Deynecourt at the foot of the hill. Carefully positioned, with views to the north over School Lake, this is an imposing Italianate house with fine red brick and terra cotta facing, accessed by an imposing triple-arch porte-cochere. Search the high bank on the opposite side of the road and find remnants of a Gothic folly which once ornamented the grounds of The Park.

Southlands School, Harrow On The Hill
While sorting through some old photographs from the 1950s when I was in England and Europe with two girlfriends from Western Australia, some of the Southlands school were among them. Memories
I was at Hillside in JAN 67 - my daughter was born at the end of Feb - I remember sharing a room with two Carol’s - would love to know where they are now.

Southlands 1960's
I went to Southlands as a day girl and have many happy memories of walking around the gardens during break chatting to friends Di, Dinks, Anita and Helen were members of my class. Miss Panter was Headmistress, Miss bowen our maths mistress. I think back on that time as a good time of my life.i used to go riding on a Wednesday afternoon, old Captain Younghusband used to fetch us from school . Paddy Presant was my name.

Southlands School, Harrow On The Hill
I attended this school as a weekly border in about 1960-61. At the time Helen Shapiro's first record was number one in the hit parade and Lilian Bailey was out head girl. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
