A Memory of Harrow Weald.

My father, Carl Leopold Stanton, grew up in Harrow Weald and left, with his family, for Australia in 1948 on the ship The Ranchi. Growing up, we would hear our father's many stories of life in London in the second world war. I grew up in Australia but now live in London and would love to get in touch with anyone who knew my father and his family. Sadly, my father died a few years ago.

Hi there, I saw your memory of Harrow Weald regarding your father. I cannot help with memories of him but I did live in that area in the 1970s. They lived at 761 Kenton Lane, according to Ancestry.co.uk, which was just around the corner from me and only a mile or so away today. As their house was very close to the pub The Seven Balls, (or the three and a half men as we call it), I would suggest you hang out there for a while, ask who are the oldest residents of the area and you may find some old boys who remember the Australian family. There is an interior photo on Zoopla of the house but it doesn't look very 1930s or 40s. There is also a pub down the road called the Duck in the Pond, where I know a few old guys drink. You want to ask the old milkman or postman for any hidden gems, although I must admit, it is a long shot after such a long time. Sorry I couldn't be of anymore help and good luck with your search. If I can help you with anything regarding this area, please don't hesitate to contact me. Regards, Lizzie Mackay
Dear Friend,

Permit me to inform you of my desire of going into business relationship with you. I am the Business Development Officer of my Bank here in the United Kingdom (The United Bank of Africa with Branches in the USA and France).l am seeking your assistance to stand as the next of kin to one of the accounts under my supervision for the sum of $8 Million (USD) as long as I am assured that
It will be safe in your care. This is not stolen money and there are no dangers involved. I count on your understanding. please get back to me in confidence and we will be grateful to God for this day in our lives.

SOURCE OF MONEY:
This money was discovered by some hired military contractors in Kabul,he transported it here via diplomatic channel but unfortunately the sole signatory on the mandate card died on April 20 in the Bhoja Air Flight 213, a Boeing 737, that crashed near Chaklala airbase, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, in bad weather, killing all 127 people on board on their back home here in the UK.

He left no information and details on the mandate card, all he had with him is just the deposit certificate that we gave him.I was the account officer as at then and only one that knows about this.I will give you more details once I get a response from you.My worries are that here in the United Kingdom, the money will be sent as scrub money to her Majesty's GEA account within a short period of time because it has exceeded its duration with us without a trace or link to the next of kin.
