Helston Penrose Walk 1913 Penrose Walk runs from the bottom end of Coronation Park down to the Loe and follows its shore to Penrose. The Rogers family gave 1600 acres of their estate, including the Loe, to the National Trust in 1974 - at that time the single biggest gift the Trust had received. Francis Frith's Around Helston Helston Penrose from the Park 1890 The Rogers family, Squires of Penrose, have provided a long line of MPs, JPs, solicitors and lawyers. Hugh Rogers bought the Manor of Penrose in 1770 from the Penrose family, who had owned it since the 13th century.
