More about this scene
The Godolphins were prominent in the affairs of Helston until the line died out with the 2nd earl in the late 18th century. The name lives on in the Godolphin racing stable (ironically owned by Sheikh Makhtoum); it is named after Godolphin Arabian, one of the three Arab stallions from which all British racehorses are descended, and imported by the 2nd earl.
