More about this scene
Away from the bright lights and entertainments of its main resorts, Lancashire's coast has many other fine stretches of expansive beach. Half Moon Bay, which lies north of Heysham Docks, was a popular destination for a day on the sands. Children paddle in the shallow waters or investigate the rock pools, whilst others dig castles from the soft sand.
