Love this photo, when I started work at Barnsley Parks Depot in 1987 this slide was still in the park... biggest one I've ever seen and still much loved at the time... alas it was removed shortly after, but its still a fab play area to visit with the kiddies...
I was 12 when I moved to Hoyland.
Went to Market Street Jr School prior to Ecclesfield Grammar, only person I can remember from Platts Common is Roy Ashurst. Barry Mckay
Hello everyone. I have just registered. I have been searching for info on platts common around 1948 onwards. I used to live in Hague Yard at platts common when I was little. It would be great if anyone as info. I would be most grateful. Lynn My parents were Jack and Gladys Jones. My dad worked at wombwell Main pit and then Platts Common as a timekeeper.
