It is interesting to note that mostly modern scenes were chosen for this postcard issued in the 1960s. Talisman Square (top left) was still new and presumably a source of pride to some, but many did, and still do, consider it an affront. It is easy to imagine what Sir Walter Scott, the author of The Talisman, might think about it.
