George Villiers, 2nd Duke of Buckingham and friend of Charles II, was brought to Kirbymoorside after falling from his horse whilst out hunting. He was taken to a house where he later died of his injuries; it is now known as Buckingham House.

Salton's From Yorkshire
I do not have memories here, but my Great and Great Great Grandparents are from Yorkshire. I have a photo of my Gr Gr Grandmother, Mary Salton, wife of Fletcher Salton. The photo is of her tomb stone. On the back it says taken in Yorkshire in 1893. She was born in Quebec, Canada in 1824, died 1893. Fletcher Salton was born 1823-1899. Samuel Salton, my Gr Grandfather born West Hartlepool in 1848 died in London, Canada in 1934 were I lived my whole life.

Clifford Egan
My father Clifford Egan passed away at 80 years old on the 27th July last year, 2010. He was brought up in Kirbymoorside and had wanted to return there for a visit for many years, but due to ill health he didn't make it back. I know from family records that his mother Florence Egan and father John Egan ran a shop in the town at Dale End, there are now new houses built on this site. Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
