More about this scene

This end of a narrow valley at the foot of a steep hill has been a popular seaside resort for many years. It also had nearby coal-pits, which sent out some of their produce from the beach here. On the left are steps leading down to the beach, the Castle Hotel is centre right and a trumpet player is practising front right!
