Nan& Grandad

A Memory of Mitcham.

Although I am 75 I can still remember as clear as yesterday coming up from Headley Surrey with my parents and sister to visit my grandparents who worked for Mizzen Bros.
I remember getting off the bus at the Fair Green and walking up past the Majestic Cinema to a railway bridge over the bridge along a road to a junction where there were shops crossing the road and along a lane to a pair of black tared cottages my Nan And Grandad lived in the second one opposite Paynes Firework factory.

I can still remember the interior of the cottage and his chickens at the bottom of the garden.

He worked for Mizzen Bros he used to look after the horses and deliver the vegetables.

My Dad also worked for Mizzen.

My uncle used to work at Paynes.

Lots of happy memories.
