I was born morley maternity home 1937. Went to victoria road infants school then Cross hall school Headmaster was Mr wolfenden my teacher Mr Groves.Imovwd away ln 1948.
I went to brunt life school. I was then called Ann Nieschmidt. My first memory of Morley was being taken to the picture house to see the sound of music. It was wonderful. Then we pretended to be with Mary poppins flying up and down the town hall steps.
I was born in July 1937 in Lord Asquith house which was a maternity home in those days.my parents were Dennis and Anne Pickersgill... They told me that I was so tiny I fitted into a shoe box lined with cotton wool..and kept on the oven door to keep me warm..no incubators back then... I graduated to my sisters doll pram...something she still never lets me forget...At that time we lived on Charles street. When I was only ...see more
My sister Joyce lived at the end of Thorpe Lane opposite The Old White Bear ,she was also a barmaid there. Jim Rose
