We are looking north-westwards from above Lower Yondover Farm to the 1839-built Congregational chapel (centre left) at the crossroads near Laurel Farm. Orchard Hill and Whitecross are at the top left, and the 893ft summit of Lewesdon rises centre left. The cottages and trees in New Inn Street are overlooked by the parish church (right). Lewesdon Hill, topped by beech trees, was given to the National Trust in 1943.

Tolley Family History
I've yet to visit Netherbury where my Tolley ancestors were based. I'm interested to hear about the Tolley family shoemaker who moved to Surrey sometime in the 70's/80's. They lived in a part of Netherbury named Braddicks. My earliest connection with Dorset was hearing my father, George Tolley, sing what is presumably a rather bawdy Dorset folksong - Old John Braddl'em! Julia Tolley

Historic Families
I am searching for my ancestors from Netherbury the family names are Toogood, Tolley, Spraklen, Meech, Clarke, Hoskens, Maish, Cox. These are names going back to the early 1700. Netherbury has held my interest since I was a child and at last I am going to be able to see it for myself armed with the names of my ancestors. It would be so very good to know if anyone living in Netherbury is able to help with my search.

However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
