More about this scene
The New Brighton Tower was completed in 1898, about eight years after the Blackpool Tower. Standing at 560 feet, it was 42 feet higher than Blackpool Tower, and the tallest structure in England at the time. It afforded magnificent views of the Isle of Man, the Welsh mountains and the Lakeland fells from the viewing platform at the top.
