More about this scene
Just round the corner from the church is George Row. The buildings look pretty much the same today, though Henry Cooper's film developing business and the premises of the Midland Lace Association have gone. With the hoods of the cars down and the trees clearly in leaf, this photograph was obviously taken at the height of summer.
