Northampton, Guildhall c.1955

More about this scene
The Archangel Michael, Northampton's patron saint, can just be seen in this photograph, crowning the Guildhall's turreted gable. The buildings to the right have made way for an extension to the Guildhall, opened in 1992. New street lamps also replace the ones in this picture, and the street was wider then than now.
