Caption for Northampton, Market Square C1950: Much of this corner of the Market Place has changed since this photograph was taken. The newspaper office on the left and the road running to the right of it have gone; in their place is a modern shopping complex. The Midland Railway Hotel on the right is also a shopping centre - Peacock Place. Three doors up is a building with a bay window on the first floor. A solicitor's office since 1949, this was once a locally famous music school.
