More about this scene

Here we see the attractive 1934 bridge with the power station rising up behind it. Peterborough's first Lighting Order was made in 1893, and the first power plant was in an old Catholic Church in Queen Street in 1900. The Customs House was handed over to Sea Cadets in 1942. There is a plethora of pleasure craft in view. The Patent Safety Ladder Co's premises off Oundle Street are just visible beyond the bridge.
