Now known as the 'Gateway to the Moors', Pickering is a small market town still served by the steam trains of the North York Moors Railway. This view of Potter Hill shows the classical façade of the Primitive Methodist Chapel, built in 1885, on the left.

I was born at 53 Potter Hill, it was great in those day's. Mrs Jones had the shop at the top of Potter Hill, same row as the Church was on. We were 4 doors away from Codge Frank, the chicken and egg man. Nita was at the fish and chip shop, think her name was Aires, but don't know if that is spelt correctly.
