Plymouth, Bedford Street 1904

More about this scene
Bedford Street is another road that disappeared from the map following the blitz. It is clear that the Victorians remodelled much of the old city, constructing public and commercial buildings on a grand scale. Styled mostly in the preferred ornate Gothic, these additions sit awkwardly among the older, more urbane 18th-century buildings.
