More about this scene
The fountain and pond are situated at the front of the art gallery at the end of a ribbon of lawns and rose beds known as the Diamond. 'Sea Piece' is the name of the bronze from which water sprays; it depicts a legendary sea-horse with a triton and baby triton astride its back. It was sculpted by Sir Charles Wheeler, and it was switched on in July 1950.
