More about this scene
Now Fire Headquarters, Hazel Mere was built in 1892 as a family home for Joseph Foster, a Preston machine maker. Requisitioned by the National Fire Service during WWII, it was eventually bought for the Lancashire Brigade in 1949. The extension was added in 1959, with further additions since, but the character of the building remains substantially the same.
