Romford, High Street 1910

More about this scene
South Street is to the left, with the Golden Lion and North Street to the right. It is remarkable that until the Eastern Avenue arterial road was built in the 1920s, the main trunk road from London to the port of Harwich and East Anglia passed through the narrow confines of the High Street.
