More about this scene
The exporting of coal has ceased by this date, and the loading gear and coal trolleys are long gone. At the base of the cliff, the buildings include the one belonging to the boat builders Kelpie Boat Services. They employed several local men, including James and Charles Crockford, and here boats like the Nemesis and the Polar Star were built. Kelpie Boat Services still operates, but is nowadays located in Pembroke Dock.
