More about this scene

This view from Mill Lane has changed little, but the methods of harvesting the fields are worlds apart. The hay has been left to dry, and was no doubt turned before making the stooks lined up like Indian tepees along the field. These would be used to make a haystack with a thatched top, just like the one in the background.

A Selection of Memories from Sea Palling

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Sea Palling

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

Growing up in the village the summers always seemed hot! This photo shows my dad Len on the left walking to the right. So much more memories come to the fore, even the registration of the Commer van on the right.
