Many of the businesses seen here may be gone, but they are still remembered with affection by older residents. Rust's the draper's and milliner's display the latest ladies' fashions, and next door Jordan's the chemist's had their scales outside— you could check your weight for a ha'penny (the chemist's is still going today). Next door again was the bakery run by Mr George High.
