Nostalgic memories of Shipton Bellinger's local history

Share your own memories of Shipton Bellinger and read what others have said

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our web site to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was when the photographs in our archive were taken. From brief one-liners explaining a little bit more about the image depicted, to great, in-depth accounts of a childhood when things were rather different than today (and everything inbetween!). We've had many contributors recognising themselves or loved ones in our photographs.

Why not add your memory today and become part of our Memories Community to help others in the future delve back into their past.

I was born in the military hospital Tidworth & we lived at 80, then renumbered, to number 1 Arena Road Camp. We also moved to Shipton Bellinger when the houses were first built what luxury. Does anyone remember the afternoons we spent at a man's house watching Roy Rogers on a little black & white tv in Arena Road? My name then was Sylvia Reid.
I remember living in a nisson hut for a while, then moving to Parkhouse Close. Just saw memories of Ann Simpson; we lived a couple of doors away. Don't know if you remember?
I was born in Tidworth, moved to Arena Road camp (does anyone remember it?). I have very happy memories of living in our nissen hut. We moved to Parkhouse Close (as it was known then) when the houses there were first built. I also only remember happy times growing up here. Then Shipton was a small community where everyone knew everyone, It was a lovely place and I only wish my children could have grown up there. My name then - Ann Simpson
