My parents have lived in 34 Charlbury Road since 1967 and I have visited them often over the years, although I have not lived in Shrivenham for any length of time since 1972. I can remember playing in the fields and making camps before the estate was built by Bradleys, a local builder. All the houses had different coloured doors and panels which was quite unusual. I believe that the photo is taken looking towards Shrivenham coming up Station Road. The next turning on the right is Charlbury Road and we moved into no 24 around 1965 - perhaps a bit before. There was still lots of building going on and I can remember getting my wellington boot stuck in the mud and falling over - did I get it when I got home!
