Stourbridge, High Street And Gardens c.1955

More about this scene
It is still possible to sit here and watch the world go by today, although this open area once had buildings lining the street between the Market Hall and the Mitre. When one looks at the immaculately maintained gardens here, with flower beds and lawns that require a great deal of attention, it is easy to understand why so many such areas have disappeared from the centre of our towns, sad though it is.
