More about this scene
A Benedictine priory belonging to Westminster Abbey was established here to the north of Sudbury c1130. This is the 15th-century chapel with nave and chancel in one. The building survived the Dissolution of 1536 and the clearance of the site in 1779; since then it was used as a barn. An annual service was held here until c1830.
