The Best Days Of My Life

A Memory of Talacre.

I have wonderful memories of Talacre from 1968 when my mum and dad purchased their first caravan on Thompson's Field next to Brookside Amusements, until 2000 when my mum and dad finally sold their caravan. I was friends with Cynthia and Anita Marsden and both of their families and worked in the pool hall they had built. I loved my times in Talacre a d had many many friends there. Jackie Mayo who used to make her own Barley Wine and grow her own fruit and veg. Rod Davies whom I used to jive with in the Lighthouse. The Best years were my teenage years when I worked for Arthur Price in the Mace during the day and worked at Taylor's Children's disco at night along with Richard Taylor, Alan Galvin and Gary McGunigle. So so many happy memories of those days. Mum's and dads partying, kids all playing together. Good music, good friends and brilliant times. Sadly my mum and dad passed 10yrs ago and I scattered their ashes on the dunes opposite the Lighthouse. I'm no longer in touch with any of those old friends but would love to hear from Cynthia Marsden or anyone from those magical times. Thank you Talacre for all of those cherished memories.
